Gerstner continued to serve on the IBM Board of Directors with duties including oversight of day-to-day operations, strategy, and capital allocation. Prior to joining the IBM Board in 2000, Mr. Gerstner served as non-executive chairman of RJR Nabisco Inc., CEO of RJR Nabisco Holdings Inc., and President/CEO of American Express Company.
Currently, he is a member of the board of trustees for his alma mater Yale University, is chairman of the board for the Council on Foreign Relations, and serves on many corporate boards around the world.
